It’s no secret that the Emerald Isle sees a high volume of rainfall, with approximately 200 days of rain annually across the island. While this can be seen as a negative, it also contributes to some of the island’s most magical nature, including our epic waterfalls.

Providing inspiration to W.B. Yeats, one of Ireland’s best-loved poets, and featuring in his poem ‘The Stolen Child’, this truly is one of the most magical falls in Ireland.
Travelling the southwest? Then you need to check out Torc Waterfall in Killarney National Park, County Kerry. Coming in at 65.6 ft (20 m), this breathtaking waterfall is located in some of Ireland’s most magical surroundings, making it all the more special.
Assaranca Waterfall is somewhat of a hidden gem located in the southwest of County Donegal. Rugged and remote, it is just a short drive from the village of Ardara. It really is a magical sight to behold.
Located high up in the Comeragh Mountains of County Waterford, you’ll find the picturesque Mahon Falls. A breathtaking waterfall coming in at a whopping 263 ft (80 m), this gem of the southeast is certainly one of the top waterfalls in Ireland.

What you need to know – visiting Powerscourt Waterfall
Cascading an impressive 397 ft (121 m), this breathtaking waterfall also happens to be the tallest on the island. Thus, making it a firm bucket list must for anyone looking to discover the top waterfalls in Ireland.
It sits beautifully under the peak of Djouce Mountain, adding to its magical and mystical atmosphere.
Plus, the surrounding Powerscourt Estate offers plenty to be discovered, including the majestic 18th-century manor house, the award-winning gardens, and the breathtaking Crone Woods.
The perfect place to spend a sunny day, just a short drive from Dublin, Powerscourt Estate is a popular spot to relax, unwind, and spend some time in nature.
The waterfall is just a short walk from the car park, and you do have to pay to visit. Prices are €7 for adults, €18 for a family, €3.50 for children, and €6 for seniors. Totally worth it to see the most beautiful waterfall in Ireland.
