5 unique Airbnbs in County Tipperary include Conroy's Old Bar

Fondly referred to as ‘the pub with no beer’, this next Airbnb is most certainly one of a kind. Once the sleepy village local, Conroy’s Old Bar has been converted into a unique accommodation opportunity. This traditional Irish pub is now completely dry of any alcoholic beverages, yet it has retained all its original charm.

The property boasts a cosy open fire and the original mahogany bar has been converted into a discreet kitchen space, with the old snug and cellar now converted into bedrooms. Outside there is a beer garden, where guests can sit and enjoy a BBQ, and even a lovely Fairy Garden for the little ones!

The pub’s location is very central, meaning that guests are no more than a two-hour drive from all of Ireland’s major cities and in a great spot to explore further afield.

Built in the 1500s, the castle oozes a rugged charm and sense of serenity with its rural location and authenticity.

Guests will have to forego some of life’s modern comforts and immerse themselves in an authentic castle experience with no modern heating, TV, Wi-Fi, and limited electricity. This is the perfect escape from the stresses of modern life and a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with yourself.

A stay at this unique property does include some luxuries, such as a continental-style breakfast and welcome hamper, and by choosing to stay at The Black Castle guests become a part of the castle’s history and future.
