Mark Wahlberg spotted drinking in Ireland with Westlife star

Boston native Mark Wahlberg was back on the Emerald Isle, drinking wine with an Irish music legend and playing golf on one of the country’s finest courses.

One of America’s top actors has been spotted drinking in Ireland with a well-known star of Westlife, one of the most famous bands to hail from the Emerald Isle.

Mark Wahlberg, who has featured in Ted, The Departed, and Shooter, was seen with Nicky Byrne after a golfing trip in County Limerick.

Wahlberg is but one of the many famous stars from Holywood who have recently visited Ireland, and he isn’t the only one to rave about it whilst here.

Mark Wahlberg was seen golfing in the incredible Adare Manor in Limerick. He described Ireland as his “homeland” in an Instagram post to his followers.

Wahlberg attempts an Irish accent and makes a valiant effort. It switches from a southern to almost Belfast-like twang when he says “Adare Manor”. Wahlberg also pointed out a “two little lads and their Da” playing golf.

He described Adare Manor as “the greatest golf course in Europe by far” and “possibly” in the world. I’m sure there are many on the Emerald Isle who would agree with the Lone Survivor star.

Mark Wahlberg was spotted drinking in Ireland with Nicky Byrne, the popular Westlife star and singer. Westlife is one of the best Irish bands of all time! Byrne posted on Instagram; “Sorry @donniewahlberg he said he wants to join Westlife!”.

The pair caught up and even shared a hug in Dublin just last week. Wahlberg was in the Irish capital attending Weir & Sons and Patek Phillipe’s new 2022 Exhibition at the Chapter One Restaurant.

Mark Wahlberg is an Irish-American actor, with his family tree roots supposedly stemming from Inishowen in County Donegal. There is no doubt that the A-Lister enjoyed his trip home.

Wahlberg did play Irish Micky Ward in The Fighter. It is also known that his great-grandmother was born in Ireland in 1873. His family tree includes the names Bradley, Doherty, and Dunn.

There have been other stars seen in Ireland. None of us can forget when Matt Damon, another Boston native, stayed in Ireland during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Channing Tatum was seen in the Emerald Isle just recently in April. Grey’s Anatomy actor Patrick Dempsey was also seen on his travels here last year.

Taylor Swift also grabbed the headlines in Ireland recently, as she attended the Belfast bar The Tipsy Bird.
