An exciting new study has revealed the top ten best places to live in Ireland if you want to enjoy a healthy work-life balance.

Now, a new study from energy price comparison website Switcher.ie has revealed the best towns to live in Ireland for a healthy work-life balance in 2024.

The best place to live in Ireland – finding balance between your professional and personal life
The Irish Government introduced the Work-Life Balance Act in 2023 to establish new legislation regarding remote and flexible working.
With this increased priority placed on work-life balance, Switcher.ie put in the work to find out which are the best towns to live in Ireland to balance your professional and personal life.
Coming out on top is Castlebar in County Mayo. They wrote, “It’s a bustling town with a winning mix of leisure facilities, shops, cafes, good connectivity, and plenty of green spaces.
“With affordable housing, a low crime rate, and easy access to schools and health services, it’s a great place to balance work and family life.”
The best towns to live in Ireland – for a healthy work-life balance
Second on the list of towns is another County Mayo spot: Ballina. With affordable housing, good local amenities, and accessible services, they ranked the town as an excellent place to work and raise a family.
In third is Longford, followed by Wexford in fourth, and Arklow in fifth. Each offers its own winning combination of good connectivity, handy public transport links, and affordability.
Wicklow, located just a short drive from Ireland’s capital city, ranked sixth, followed by Cavan in seventh. Ashbourne came in at number eight, followed by Athlone in ninth, and Athy closing out the top ten.
