Airbnb has revealed its plans to introduce a new payment instalment option for people wishing to stay in Ireland.

The new payment instalment option that allows guests in Ireland to spread out the overall cost of their reservation will come into effect in early 2024.
This has come following the announcement that Airbnb has teamed up with Klarna to allow guests in Ireland to spread out the cost of their reservations.
Their new Pay Over Time option is part of a phased global roll-out, which will see Klarna and Airbnb join up to offer an alternative way to pay in approximately twenty countries across three continents.
Airbnb – specialises in being an online marketplace for short- and long-term homestays and experiences

Airbnb is a company that has specialised in establishing itself as a leading online marketplace for short-term and long-term experiences and homestays.
The company’s success can be attributed to various factors such as innovative technology use, a unique business model, and intelligent marketing.
Airbnb has successfully become well known for connecting people who wish to rent out their properties with people seeking accommodation for short stays. It also offers hosts an extremely efficient way to generate revenue from their property.
One of the other reasons Airbnb has proven to be so popular is that its guests often find that the platform tends to be cheaper than hotels.
Klarna – provides online financial services

When speaking about the collaboration between Klarna and Airbnb, Colin Creagh, the head of Klarna, Ireland, said, “Airbnb tells us that one of the top requests from their guests is more ways to pay for their stays.
“We’re thrilled to bring Klarna’s flexible payment options to Airbnb guests around the globe.”
The Pay Over Time option with Klarna is also set to launch in six other countries across Europe from today, including France, Czechia, Italy, Greece, Spain and Portugal, with even more expected later in the year.
Pay Over Time with Klarna is already available to guests in Ireland for reservations priced between €35 and €1,500.
Pay Over Time – helps to spread out the cost of a reservation

Amanda Cupples, General Manager for Northern Europe, Airbnb, believed that the new Pay Over Time option would be great for consumers.
“We’re pleased to bring Pay Over Time with Klarna to Ireland, giving guests greater flexibility to spread their payments over a number of weeks or months.
“Whether you’re booking a solo trip or organising a get-together with friends, choosing the right payment plan has just become a lot easier,” she explained.
The Pay Over Time option will prove to be an excellent tool for customers to utilise when it comes to spreading out the cost of their reservation, as It will allow guests in Ireland to pay for their next stay in three interest-free instalments over the course of two months.
