Don’t be fooled by the name! While this four-star-hotel between Malahide and Howth attracts golfers from around Ireland and beyond thanks to its Championship Golf Course on the premises, it’s just as suitable for guests looking for a luxury-style spa break (or combine both).

Combining 19th-century flair and modern elegance, the hotel with direct beach access was formerly owned by the Jameson Whiskey dynasty (there’s still a James bar!). It has 134 rooms and suites overlooking the “Velvet Strand” and ocean, the garden courtyard and the golf course.

The spa offers full and half day packages as well as treatments such as facials, massages, peelings and body wraps. There’s also a popular and very relaxing option for mothers to be.

One of the most popular spa hotels near Dublin, The Grand Hotel was built in 1835 by James Fagan of Feltrim, a member of the British Parliament, and has undergone several changes in owners and appearance since (at one point it sported a bright pink facade!).

The four-star-hotel in Malahide just North of Dublin, a few minutes’ walk from the beach and close to attractions such as Malahide Castle, sports its own spa and health club with a 20-yard swimming pool, a whirlpool, bubble pool, a sauna and a modern gym. We especially love the classical decor around the pool with its beautiful statues.

Guests can choose between 203 rooms and suites, many of them with sea views, and end their day dining in style in the hotel’s Coast Restaurant or sipping a cocktail in the cosy Matt Ryan Bar.

This luxury place near Killiney Beach, overlooking Dublin Bay, is just a 20-minute drive (or train ride) South from the capital and has attracted couples, families and wedding parties for decades.

The 18th-century-building houses two award-winning restaurants and a massive spa perfect for a relaxing weekend, a romantic getaway or both in one.

The hotel’s leisure centre has a 20-yard indoor heated swimming pool, a whirlpool, a Scandinavian wood sauna, a steam room and a gym. There are also regular swimming, spinning, and aqua aerobics classes that you can join in, making it one of the top spa hotels near Dublin.

Fitzpatrick is a castle, so their 113 luxury boutique bedrooms mirror the theme. Given its top-notch location, we’d definitely opt for the sea view.

Our favourite of the spa hotels near Dublin, this fancy four-star-oasis has hosted Heads of State, Kings, Queens and celebrities such as Frank Sinatra and Charlie Chaplin since its opening in 1863.

Overlooking the Dublin Bay, the hotel has direct access to Dun Laoghaire Promenade and Pier as well as beautiful coastal walks at its doorstep. Many of the 228 rooms (from classic to presidential suite) boast stunning sea views.
