Portglenone Sunflower Field in Portglenone, County Antrim, is set to brighten our days once more!
After hinting on social media at an upcoming return, Portglenone Sunflower Field posted on Facebook yesterday that their glorious sunflower-studded field returns today.
As usual, money taken in from visitors will be donated to charity. Read on for opening times, prices, visitor info and more.
Portglenone Sunflower Field – prices, opening hours & more
Portglenone Sunflower Field is in bloom and open to the public once more in Portglenone, County Antrim.
After raising £20,070 last year for the Macmillan Unit at Antrim Hospital, the charity for this year remains the same.
No bookings are required to get out and visit the field. The entry price is £3 for those aged 16 and over and £1.50 for anyone 15 years and younger.
Dogs are welcome at the Sunflower Field, but they must be kept on a lead. Owners are advised to bring poop bags.
Portglenone Sunflower Field will be open every day from 10:30 am and will close each evening at 8 pm.

How it all began – a farmer from Co. Antrim
Damian McAllister, a farmer from County Antrim, sowed hundreds of thousands of sunflower seeds as an “experiment” to begin with.
While the field was never meant to be open to the public, people started jumping the gate to get a better look.
Since then, Mr McAllister has opened the field to the public and has picked a different charity each year to donate funds to.
In previous years, thousands have been raised for their chosen charities, including £11,875 for Bowel Cancer UK in 2021.
Planning your visit – no need to book just get down and visit
To visit the Portglenone Sunflower Field, you don’t need to make a booking; just turn up with some cash (preferably the correct cash), roam the dedicated paths provided through the fields and soak in the beauty.
There are no facilities at the field. However, there are bars, restaurants and toilets in the nearby Portglenone village.
