In a recent survey, it was revealed that three Irish cities were among those listed as the best student cities in the world.

The Irish cities of Galway, Dublin, and Cork have had much to celebrate recently as they achieved recognition as some of the world’s top 50 student-friendly destinations.
Being a city with a high population of students has many benefits. For example, cities with more students have more diversity, better nightlife, and international appeal.
When it comes to having more students, in general, these cities tend to have excellent facilities. This will encourage even more students from abroad to visit and call that city their home.

The list of the 50 Best Student Cities in the World was compiled by the popular student website The Campus Advisor.
The rankings that the cities found themselves in were based on extensive assessments, feedback and analysis gathered from the site.
The research looked at a variety of factors. This includes student friendliness, nightlife, public transport, cost of living, safety and amenities of each city.

The top five comprises Melbourne, Berlin, Newcastle, Brno, and Seoul. Melbourne, Australia, came out on top as the world’s best student city for 2023.
It was closely followed by Berlin, Germany, in 2nd place; Newcastle, United Kingdom, in 3rd place; Brno, Czech Republic, in 4th place, and Seoul, South Korea, in 5th place.
In 6th place was Vienna in Austria, followed by the Irish city of Galway coming in at a very respectable 7th place. In 8th, 9th and 10th position was Warsaw in Poland, Montreal in Canada and Singapore.
Newcastle excelled in the area of nightlife, whereas Vilnius in Lithuania was commended for its affordability. Berlin got praise for its public transportation system, Singapore for its safety and Melbourne for its excellent amenities.

While the three Irish cities of Galway, Dublin, and Cork all scored well on the list of the best student cities in the world, Galway ranked the highest out of the Irish cities.
Coming in at 7th place, Galway earned itself the top position in the category of student friendliness while it earned a respectable fourth place in the nightlife category, with a score of 4.47 out of 5.
Cork came in as the 22nd-best student city worldwide and boasted a rating of 4.24 out of 5. Cork excelled in the area of student friendliness, with a score of 4.69 out of 5. The city also received an excellent score of 4.65 for nightlife.
Finally, Dublin emerged in 38th place with a score of 3.96 out of 5. Dublin excelled in student friendliness with a score of 4.20 out of 5 and nightlife with a commendable score of 4.27.
