Bray is a beautiful town all year round and has loads to offer. For a start, there are lots of cafés, restaurants and bars. However, if you want activities that include beautiful scenery, here are our recommendations for five places you should check out.
5. Bray Adventures
Bray Adventures is a fantastic experience if you are looking for an action-packed day of outdoor adventures. The complex has both land and water based activities. It does not matter if you are a beginner or you have lots of experience, they have experts trained in Kayaking, Raft Building, Surfing, Coasteering and Stand up paddle boarding to help you along. The wide range of sports is catered for almost anybody who is interested in something highly exhilarating as a tourist on the East Coast of Ireland. The scenery around the area when doing these activities are stunning.
Address:Â Aisling, Strand Rd, Ravenswell, Bray, Co. Wicklow, A98 N8F7, Ireland
4. A Walk around the stunning Killruddery Country House and Gardens
The Killruddery Country House and Gardens is also a beautiful place for anyone to spend time, young and old. Once you walk around the gardens and Spence the calmness, you will be very relieved that you took the time to go and visit there. Once you’ve had your brisk walk, why not take a tour around the House and you will see that the House is kept in pristine condition with the house looking something similar to a Hollywood film set.
3. A morning walk up The Great Sugar Loaf
The Sugar Loaf is also an excellent destination if you are looking for a brisk mornings walk in the Wicklow Mountains as it is only a 5-minute drive from Bray town itself. Who does not want to watch the sunrise in the lovely surroundings of Wicklow? As you look across the top of the Sugar Loaf, you will have a bright and beautiful view of Bray and the beach. The film Reign Of Terror was filmed here, so if it is a good enough location for a fantastic movie, I think the scenery has to be pretty good too!
2. The Cliff Walk from Bray to Greystones
Why not go off the beaten track a little and do The Cliff Walk from Bray to Greystones? You will take in the breathtaking views that the south-east has to offer. The walk is beautiful. When you arrive in Greystones, you can relax and check out the range of cafés and restaurants. It is a great place for foodies.
1. Walk or cycle to Bray Head
Probably the most scenic activity to do in Bray to walk up Bray Head. It is a 241 m (791 ft) hill and headland located in northern County Wicklow, between the towns of Bray and Greystones. Here you will experience unforgettable views of this beautiful location in County Wicklow. The scenery from up there are amazing especially when you reach the top, and you get the view of Bray beach and all its surroundings. The best thing is that it does not take that long to reach the top, no matter how unfit you are! You also get views of the stone cross with the beautiful blue sea in the background. You could also have a picnic up there too on a beautiful day. It’s also free to walk on this route.
