The opening of the world’s tallest floating waterslide in Northern Ireland is part of an expansion programme at The Lake Kilrea. After a year of lockdown, the park is getting ready to welcome visitors back for the summer season.
Home to over 11 acres of freshwater, the 80,000 sq ft (7432 sq m) waterpark is now the biggest in Ireland.
The Beast is just one of the exciting additions to the park, which boasts various games and challenges for those aged six and up.
From giant icebergs to mega slides and wipeout balls to swirly bridges, there is something for everyone at The Lake Kilrea.
World’s tallest floating waterslide – Northern Ireland’s newest attraction
Brand new for 2021, the Beast stands at over 40 ft (12.2 m) in height. Thus, making it the tallest floating waterslide in the world.
Suitable for ages six and up, guests can shoot down one of three slides. Reaching speeds of up to 25 mph (40 kph), guests will be launched into the air before splashing into the lake below.
If 40 ft (12.2 m) sounds a bit too high, Lake Kilrea’s newest exciting attraction offers two levels. So, you can work your way up to brave the tallest floating waterslide in the world.

Not a fan of the water? No problem. The Lake Kilrea offers various land sports that are just as much fun.
Gain a new perspective on the high ropes course or test your strength on the 24 ft (7.3 m) climbing wall. Alternatively, fly over the water at speeds of up to 22 mph (35 kph) on the 394 ft (120m) zipline.
If you just want to sit by the water and watch the world go by, you can even grab a lakeside coffee from the Tiny House coffee van.
