The first-ever World Matchmaking Festival will welcome visitors from around the world this weekend in Bundoran, Co. Donegal.
The World Matchmaking Festival is making its way to Ireland for the very first time this weekend for 10 days of entertainment, dating, dancing and more between 29 September and 8 October.
The opening night of the event will take place on Friday, 29 September, at Bundoran’s Allingham Arms Hotel. So, read on to find out everything you need to know.

Donegal’s seaside town is set to host this year’s World Matchmaking Festival. It’s a ten-day extravaganza of dating, dancing, live entertainment, and so much more.
Thousands of singletons from all over the world are expected to head to Bundoran in the hope of finding love, giving the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival a bit of a run for its money.
Across the ten days, there are 34 live acts scheduled to perform. This includes the Tumbling Paddies on the festival’s opening night at the Allingham Arms Hotel.
A boost for Bundoran – backing local businesses in the quieter season
The World Matchmaking Festival is set to provide a huge boost for the local economy. This is thanks to it taking place on the latter side of the busy summer season.
Shane Smyth of Discover Bundoran told Donegal News, “The arrival of the World Matchmaking Festival next month is most welcome as it straddles both September and October and is one of the longest festivals to have run in Bundoran at 10 days in a row!
“We expect that the festival will give a welcome boost to the town as Bundoran generally gets a bit quieter at that time of year”.

The event will take place across ten days and nights from Friday, 29 September to Sunday, 8 October.
There will be blind date shows, speed dating, live bands, musicians, dancers, and speakers, including very special guest and Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival’s very own Willie Daly.
You can pay for certain event tickets on the door, but the event organisers have suggested getting tickets for the Tumbling Paddies (€20.00) and the Tina Turner shows (€30.00) in advance as they will be very popular.
