Wild Lights return to Dublin Zoo this winter

With Christmas just around the corner, many exciting festive events are planned across the Emerald Isle.

The highly anticipated Wild Lights is returning to Dublin Zoo this winter.

The immersive experience takes guests on a magical ‘Around the World’ adventure of illuminated lights and global landmarks.

With many of last years festivities cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many are looking forward to making the most of this year’s events.

Tickets go on sale today for the highly anticipated return of Wild Lights to Dublin Zoo this winter.

Priced at €22 for adults, €18 for children, and €19 for students and pensioners, with children under three going free, organisers expect tickets to sell quickly.

This fantastic nighttime experience is set to take place from 28 October to 9 January 2022. Thus, walking this illuminated trail is the perfect way to brighten up the long, dark winter nights.

From the Eiffel Tower to New York City, the Pyramids of Egypt, and more, visitors will embark on a journey ‘Around the World’.

Illuminated lanterns will take the form of rockets jetting off into outer space, as well as many famous landmarks around the world. So, if you’ve been craving that long-awaited foreign trip, you can experience the next best thing much closer to home.

Perfect for all the family, kids will have the chance to learn about some of the world’s most important cultural and historical landmarks.

A brand new theme – discover the plains of Africa

Alongside all the usual attractions of Dublin Zoo’s Wild Lights festival, guests will also have the chance to discover something new.

This year’s event features a brand new theme, allowing visitors to discover the African Plains.

The one-way trail will take you through a series of over 1000 illuminated silk lanterns, offering up a truly memorable experience. Once you visit once, Wild Lights will become a favoured annual tradition.

Those from Dublin and further afield can’t wait for the return of Wild Lights to Dublin Zoo this winter.

Dr Christoph Schwitzer, Director of Dublin Zoo, announced the festival’s return.

He said, “We are delighted to announce the return of the award-winning Wild Lights to Dublin Zoo for 2021.

“It’s incredibly exciting to welcome visitors back to experience a brand new theme. They can explore some of the world’s most spectacular landmarks.”

To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, a number of measures will be in place at this year’s event. Timed entry slots and a one-way system will be in place to encourage social distancing.

There will be no live performances will take place. Plus, contactless hand sanitizing stations can be found throughout the trail.
