5 Great Things to do with Kids in Bray

Besides the thousands of pubs around Ireland that are great for warm the long rainy days, there is so much still to do for kids and those who don’t drink. A Neverland that is perfect for sunnier days in Ireland is Bray, the coastal town in County Wicklow. Here are our Top 5 Things to do with Kids in Bray!

5. Killruddery House

In the southern Bray, the Killruddery House is a big mansion dating from the 17th century. Nothing better for learning history outdoors. Further, during the year, this place offers an annual programme including kids events. One of the highlights events of the year is the “Woodland Faerie Day 2018”. Described as “A day of spellbinding stories, activities and faerie lore to enchant the whole family.” the event happens 29th July 2018 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m and costs €7.50 for adults.

4. Sea Life Bray

Sea Life Bray is a good educational and fun activity suitable for all ages. The aquarium is home to over 1,000 creatures in an indoor place because there is no rain that drowns the plans to discover the littoral area of Bray. The aquatic zoo offers feeding demonstrations during the day, the largest collection of Starfish in Ireland and others premium activities that are constantly launching new events. The National Sea Life Centre opening times are between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and every day in summer!

3. The Bray to Greystones Trail

If you and the children are into adventure, this is the perfect plan for breaking out of your typical daily routine. The path from Bray to Greystones takes 7 km and approximately 2.5 hours walking. During the long way, you’ll experience beautiful views of the Irish sea and stunning views of the Wicklow County mountains. The entire footpath is open to the public for free.

2. Mermaid Arts Centre

The Mermaid Arts Centre is great for performances of music, literature, theatre, comedy and local arts. It is a place for the whole family and to people of all ages. Ticket prices vary for different performances but the Mermaid offers free admission for some events, (mainly for the storytelling events which a good for kids). The opening times are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day, except for Sundays, when the Mermaid Arts Centre is closed.

1. Bray Adventures

A great place for extracurricular activities is Bray Adventures. Activities available are aimed at kids between 8 to 16 years old and include Surfing, Kayaking, Coastal Exploring, Hill walking, Raft Building, SUP (Stand Up Paddle Boarding ) and Rock climbing. With experienced instructors, Bray Adventures promotes six types of activities, four of them aimed to children: summer camps, school and colleges, birthdays and family days; and training and courses. Tickets start at €35 and depend on the activity.
