If you think mini golf is just for kids, think again. We believe it’s a blast for all ages and everyone should try it at least once. If you are in Northern Ireland, have a look at our list of the best places for crazy golf in Belfast.
Remember the old days when mini-golf was little more than a small course with a few holes, ramps, windmills, and tubes as obstacles? Times have certainly changed, and, while the goal has remained the same – playing a ball into the hole by as few strokes as possible – these days, crazy golf places have a lot more to offer than just the game itself.
Expect pirates, snakes, and waterfalls on your course and cocktails served at rainforest-themed bars while you are hunting for an (imaginary) pot of gold. And, while mini golf has always been a leisure favourite for families with kids, it’s now just as fun for groups of friends or a birthday celebration.
We’ve made the rounds (literally) and are happy to present the best places for crazy golf in Belfast – suitable for all ages and golf abilities.Â
3. Citigolf – a fun course with simulators that make you feel like a pro
Citigolf isn’t just your average place for playing a round of mini-golf – it has simulators, providing immediate feedback on your swings, angle, and ball speed, making you feel like a pro at an actual golf course!Â
The magic works thanks to the electronic floor and ball tracking sensors located in the walls and ceiling, enabling the most accurate ball flight. And, if you are really serious about improving your court techniques, you can even take a course.Â
Obviously, you don’t have to aim for winning the next golf tournament to enjoy Citigolf. If you just come to have the craic with your friends, that’s totally fine, too. They also have special events, such as karaoke nights and packages for birthdays and stag and hen nights, making it one of the best places for crazy golf in Belfast if you have a special occasion to celebrate.

2. The Lost City Adventure Golf – for a rainforest-themed game featuring tigers, snakes, & waterfalls
The Lost City Adventure Golf doesn’t host one but two 18-hole, rainforest themed, indoor adventure crazy golf courses suitable for the whole family (or a group of friends), as well as being wheelchair-friendly, so we didn’t have to think twice to put it on our list of the best places for crazy golf in Belfast.
When choosing The Sunken Skull Ridge, you are competing for the Inca Gold, protected by a Bengal tiger that will do everything in its power to prevent you from beating him. Expect moving rocks and a giant skull (hence the name) on top, so you will need all your adventure skills to succeed.
The Explorer Falls, on the other hand, features old ruins, turning skulls, and a jungle python and alligator lurking within the giant waterfall.
We’ve tried out both courses and really couldn’t name a favourite, so we suggest you do the same! Want to celebrate your victory in style? Their Tiki Bar serves pizza and drinks.

1. Pirates Adventure Golf – a theme park-style crazy golf place boasting tons of special effects
Pirates of the Caribbean fans of all ages will be intrigued by this 36-hole golf complex in Dundonald, the first of its kind in Ireland – making it our winner of the best places for crazy golf in Belfast.
More an entire theme park than just a regular mini-golf course, players compete amid pirate ships, huts, water fountains, and skulls, so expect to stay a little longer just to take in all the surroundings. There are even special effects, such as firing cannons, a fully rigged pirate schooner, spitting totem poles, and a misted graveyard. And yes, if you want to dress up as Jack Sparrow, you are more than welcome!
While Pirates Adventure Golf is especially popular among families (and for kids’ birthdays), we really couldn’t think of a reason why you shouldn’t go there with your mates, too.
