The 90s was an epic decade to grow up in so let’s take a look at ten things that will make you wish you grew up in the 90s.

Kids today will never know what it was like to have a real traditional childhood without smartphones or iPads, and even though the 90s isn’t exactly that long ago, it does bring a sense of nostalgia to those who grew up in the decade.
However, if you didn’t grow up in the 90s, we’re truly sorry, because you missed out on a lot of epic things. But don’t worry we’ll share all that epicness with you now.
Here are ten things that will make you wish you grew up in the 90s.
10. Doc Martens – the ultimate footwear

Yeah sure, everyone knows these epic boots, and many still wear them today, but that’s a trend coming from the 90s.
These were the ultimate footwear for 90s teens and pre-teens, and you only wish you could have been one of them.
9. Floppy disks – nothing floppy about these disks

Does anyone even say these two words together anymore?
When computer technology was beginning to make its way into the school curriculum in Ireland, everyone had to have a floppy disk to save their work on.
They kept things nice and straightforward, unlike today when computers can be so overwhelming, and a USB is just dull so its no wonder this is one of the things that will make you wish you grew up in the 90s.
8. Cereal box prizes – everyone loves a prize

No matter what age you were, you always hoped to be the first person to get to the new box of cereal to claim the prize at the bottom.
What a great incentive to eat breakfast, but these days, with health and safety regulations, cereal is much less exciting.
7. South Park/Beavis and Butthead – staying up after hours

It was rebellious to stay up late and watch these grown-up cartoons.
Between the rude content of South Park and the humour of Beavis and Butthead, you only wish you had grown up in the 90s to see what all the fuss was about.

5. Britney and Justin – the ultimate couple

Okay, they may have dated close to the end of the 90s, but still, we got to grow up watching Britney Spears as an individual star and Justin Timberlake as a member of NSYNC – and then finally come together as a couple. Those were the good old days!
4. Tamagotchi – childhood responsibility

Forget iPhones and PlayStation; Tamagotchis were the must-have gadget and they are one of those things that will make you wish you grew up in the 90s.
You felt so much responsibly for your pet Tamagotchi, and everyone who was anyone had one.
3. Tear away Adidas tracksuit bottoms – the king of tracksuit bottoms

Don’t pretend you don’t remember these, because they were an iconic piece of fashion that also provided practicality and comfort.
90s kids will definitely know them because everyone had at least one pair during their childhood when they were truly original and cool.
2. 90s cartoons – cartoons in their heyday

Everyone loves cartoons, even adults, but in the 90s we had the best ones.
Doug, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Pinky and the Brain, and the list goes on. They play reruns on TV nowadays, but nothing compares to sitting on the sofa in your PJs watching their screen debut.
1. MTV played music – music television

If you’ve never seen a music video on MTV, you haven’t lived. This was the ultimate music channel, but sadly today it’s full of reality shows, and there’s not a music video in sight.
Wouldn’t it have been fantastic growing up during the days when MTV did what it was supposed to do?
So there you have it, ten things that will make you wish you grew up in the 90s!
The 90s was an epic decade, for many reasons. Things were simple, but fun, growing up was exciting, fashion was overrated, which made it cool, and the best shows were on TV.
Sadly, not everyone could grow up in the 90s, and we know that growing up in the 80s or noughties also had its highlights, but can you really compare it to being a 90s kid? We think not.
