1. Doolin, Co. Clare

Doolin is bursting with tourists from the busy months of April until the end of September but this romantic hilltop view is a must see.

As you take the windy road up past Doonagore Castle you’ll go straight through the crossroads and drive up towards the telephone tower.

You’ll find a spot to pull in on the side of the road where behind you, you will marvel at the beautiful view of the Aran Islands and Galway Bay and enjoy with your other half.

2. Máméan, Co. Galway

If you’re an active couple and feel like getting lost in the wilderness of Connemara go and do the pilgrimage walk to Máméan where you’ll find one of the smallest chapels in Ireland. 7. Teampall Bhean’in (St Benan’s Church), Co. Galway

Inis Mór is the biggest of the three Aran Islands and is perfect for a weekend getaway. Why not rent a bike and get away from the busy tourist spots by cycling up to Teampall Bhean’in and enjoy the views of Cill Éinne Bay. You could grab a takeaway sandwich or coffee from one of the numerous cafes and enjoy the peace and silence with your significant other.

8. Mamore Gap, Co. Donegal

Now, it rarely happens in this country but on occasion, you will hear a report of the Aurora Borealis being visible from certain points in Northern Ireland and one of these places is Mamore Gap.

This road is on the western side of Inishowen and a popular spot where people have made pilgrimages to visit the holy St.Eigne’s well situated at the top of the gap.

The Vee Pass is located in the Knockmealdown Mountains of Co. Tipperary on the border of Waterford.
