5. Pyke ‘N’ Pommes
One of the true hidden gems of Derry. I don’t know if I can get away with calling a food truck a restaurant, but I will continue to do so until I am stopped because it is a personal favourite. The food truck is parked up on Queens Quay, showing off a gorgeous view of the river Foyle. Their street food style is simple, yet takes you on a wild journey across the globe through their ingredients. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Pyke ’N’ Pommes is a real culinary delight.

4. Browns in Town
Browns in Town is one of those restaurants that keeps you coming back for more. The atmosphere, the location and more importantly, the food. A menu that has been tailored to excellence, Browns ensure that even the most basic dish is prepared with unique and exotic ingredients, creating something magnificent. The specialised vegetarian menu is also wonderful, apparently. Both of the dinner menus and the lunch menu has a pretty wonderful 3-course deal. Try and stop me at 3, Browns!

The Sooty Olive is one of those sweet finds, located right in the heart of the Waterside area. Taking locally sourced food and using it to create something beautiful. They show off both a stunning presentation and an intensely delicious flavour. At the Sooty Olive, you get a 5-star experience and served with a humility that keeps us coming back.

Brickwork is one of those restaurants that maintain your interest for return visits because the menu is so vast. It stretches from the specialised Asian cuisine, combining it with a fresh, local taste. The staff make what is already a wonderful restaurant and create an atmosphere and standard that makes it one of the best places to eat in Derry. The cocktails are also a major draw to this place.

This is our go-to for a good pub grub feed in Derry. What better way to wind down than in the safety and comfort of a beautiful restaurant that serves the absolute classics but with a twist. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. We all know that wonderful food is only half of the experience. The atmosphere complimented the food, from the moment that you enter until when you leave well fed. You are made to feel like one of the family.
