Three Irish hair extension businesses were named among the best Irish hairdressers, according to Hair Awards 2020.

These included Silke Hair Extensions in Dublin and Platinum Human Hair in Dublin, Cork, and Galway. Hairtalk, which operates from over 30,000 salons globally, including various locations throughout Ireland, was also named.

Taking the crown for best hair extension salon was the unique Onyx Hair Lounge in Cork city centre.

The staff here specialise in hair extension application and removal, allowing for a seamless customer experience and ensuring your hair stays in great condition.

Best salons – for overall quality and experience

Patrick Gildea Hairdressing was named best salon in Ulster.

When it comes to salons, four top spots were named across the four provinces. Patrick Gildea Hairdressing in Donegal took the prize for Ulster. Meanwhile, Melo Yelo in Limerick, part of the Hugh Campbell Hair Group, took the top spot for Munster.

If you’re based in Leinster, Carlow hairdresser Berlin Hair Lounge were named among the best. And if your hair is as wild as the wild Atlantic waves and needs taming in the west, head to Belle Hair in Connacht.

When it comes to individuals, there are a few experts who were named among the best Irish hairdressers, according to Hair Awards 2020.

First up, Vickie Harris at Patrick Gildea Hairdressing in Donegal took the prize, being praised for her ‘magic hands’. Vicky specialises in transforming a customer’s look in a way that accentuates their natural features.

Award-winning stylist Amy Michelle Hairdressing had years of experience working in London before opening her own salon in Ireland in 2016. So, if you’re in Cork and need someone to work magic on your locks, then book in with an expert.
