Springsteen’s favourite Dublin pub has gone on the market for €3.95 million with planning permission to renovate it into a 20-bed guesthouse.
Hoteliers Ray Byrne and Eoin Doyle acquired the historic Queen’s Pub in the quaint coastal village of Dalkey in 2023. However, the property has returned to the market.
A popular spot among celebrities such as Bono and Bruce Springsteen, the pub is set to pique the interest of hoteliers.
Extensive planning permission – increasing property values

With planning permission for the Dublin pub to be renovated into a 30-bed guesthouse, the property’s value has increased by €450,000 since it went on the market in 2021.
Queen’s Pub is one of Ireland’s most historic establishments, with roots dating back to 1745. It includes a spacious main bar and dining area on the ground floor and a fully equipped function room on the first floor.
The popular spot also has a south-facing enclosed terrace, which is the perfect place to relax in the sun on a summer evening.
A celebrity favourite – frequented by well-known names

A lively spot with a friendly local feel, Queen’s Pub has welcomed several well-known names. It is reportedly a favourite of icons such as Bruce Springsteen and Bono.
News of the Dublin pub going on the market comes just three months after owners Ray Byrne and Eoin Doyle listed another of their properties, the four-star Eccles Hotel and Spa in Glengarriff, County Cork, for €5 million.
They purchased the pub in 2021 from former owners AIB CEO Tom Mulcahy and his wife June, who reportedly paid €7 million for the pub back in 2003.
With a rich history and recently granted planning permission, the iconic Dalkey pub is sure to gain lots of interest among Dublin developers.
