Each year, TripAdvisor – a leading international review platform and booking site – reveals its Annual Traveller’s Choice Awards in which tourists get a chance to share their votes.

The results are in, and here are TripAdvisor’s top ten Irish destinations for 2019, revealed.

10. Sneem, Co. Kerry – for a remote paradise

This somewhat “off the grid” destination is in County Kerry. Located on the Iveragh Peninsula, this charming country village makes for a great weekend away, and well as a great base for exploring all Kerry has to offer.

The Ring of Kerry (a stunning scenic drive), ancient relics and St. Michael’s Church are all located in Sneem.

9. Donegal Town, Co. Donegal – for rugged beauty

Located in the Northern tip of Ireland is Donegal Town, an enchanting destination full of natural wonders and nature in full bloom. It was also listed as number eight on the TripAdvisor’s top ten Irish destinations for 2019.

The sleepy seaside setting is like something from a fairy tale, particularly at dusk or dawn on a cliff overlooking the wild Atlantic Ocean.

8. Westport, Co. Mayo – for family holiday vibes

This town is located in County Mayo on the West Coast of Ireland. A popular Summer destination, Westport offers endless accommodation options form luxury to camping, activites for the entire family and nature excursions.

It was also the filming location for Academy Award-winning 1952 movie, The Quiet Man, starring Irish actor Maureen O’Hara and film legend, John Wayne.

This town in County Kilkenny is most remembered for its medieval roots. It was home to Vikings centuries ago, and its history is rich and tumultuous.
