Having operated from the popular Trademarket food village before its closure earlier this year, Bodega Bagels is one of the most beloved eateries the city has to offer.

Now the owners have revealed their plans to open their first official store in the city centre, which is set to be a hit among both workers and visitors in Belfast.

The business has gone from strength to strength since humble beginnings as an at-home lockdown project. Over the past three years, Belfast’s own Bodega Bagels has proven to be a hit among foodies.

Post-lockdown, Bodega Bagels opened several pop-ups before taking up residence in East Belfast’s Banana Block in April 2022.

That summer, they opened their second unit at Trademarket outdoor market. Thus, helping the brand solidify their reputation as a great spot to eat in the city.

With options to suit all tastes and dietary requirements, their stalls at both Trademarket and Banana Block also proved busy.

The brainchild of husband and wife team, Steven and Kirsty Orr, Bodega Bagels has gained a stellar reputation over their three years of operation.

With no signs of slowing down, the popular Belfast bagel business revealed they’re finally opening their very own first store. Posting the announcement on Instagram, they said, “We started Bodega Bagels in our garage 3 years ago.

“After testing the water with a couple of pop-ups in the East, we opened up shop in Banana Block, then Trademarket shortly after.

“Now we’re finally setting down some roots in our first very own bricks-and-mortar bagel bakery and deli. We can’t wait to welcome you soon to 127-131 Royal Avenue, Belfast. Stay tuned for updates!”
