Pizza Boutique: The BEST BYO Pizzeria Belfast City Centre (REVIEW)

Located in the heart of Belfast city is Pizza Boutique, a laid-back bohemian pizza bistro that offers BYO and made to order dishes from its contemporary, Italian-fusion menu.

With outdoor seating and a warm inside restaurant, this spot is perfect for a few slices year-round. A favourite of locals from the city, we here are IB4UD had to see what all the fuss is about.

Here is what we found at Pizza Boutique!

This is a no-frills Italian eatery. A quirky, bohemian vibe shines through minimal décor of wooden tables, plant features and fairy lights.

The space is low-lit and atmospheric while groups of friends and couples salivate over slices of premium, made-to-order pizza.

With its casual approach, Pizza Boutique is the perfect place for a party or a family group, too.

Outdoor seating in the Summer months is much-coveted so book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Food Menu

The menu at Pizza Boutique is adventurous. 11 pizzas all which are contemporary takes on much-loved classics include the “Tuscan Lamb”, “Wild Mushroom” and “Piri Piri Prawn”.

For those craving something a little more simple, check out the “Create You Own” offering. One great thing about Pizza Boutique is that it is flexible – perfect for the picky person in the group (there’s always one).

Delectable side dishes such as “Big Dirty Fries” jump off the menu, while plates like “Potato Wedges with Bacon”, the “Cous Cous Super Salad” or “Sticky BBQ Chicken Wings” are bound to offer a little something for everyone.

Drink Menu

Pizza Boutique offers a simple drink offering although it is its BYO policy that really makes this spot so affordable.

Whether it is wine or beer, Pizza Boutique is on-hand to welcome you with open arms – perhaps another reason this joint is favoured for groups of friends and casual parties.

What We Had

In a bid to cover all the bases we started with the “Garlic & Mozzarella Flatbread”. Cooked to perfect and moist without being oily, this would be even recommended for those with a penchant for flatbread over pizza as a main – it was that good.

The “Wild Mushroom” pizza is a perfect choice for those out there looking for their daily dose of veggie-goodness. It is served with spinach, truffle dressing and rocket leaves.

The “Double Pepperoni” is the antithesis of the former; it is exceptionally meaty and a hearty feed, too. Perfect for those with a serious hunger, looking for an ultimate pizza.

Sides at Pizza Boutique are known to sometimes steal the show, so we ordered both the “Piri Piri Fries” and the “Truffle & Parmesan”. These dishes exceeded expectation, smothered in sauce, both with distinct, fresh, flavours.

The service at Pizza Boutique remains one of the most talked-out qualities of this casual Italian diner.

The team are not overbearing or too talkative, they’re just like normal, nice people who happen to be serving you in a restaurant.

And, in this day and age where you either have a service at 110% or 10% it is nice to find a laid-back, yet efficient and friendly approach to service-style.

For its price, Pizza Boutique smashes other contenders in the city out of the park. It is more than affordable, with all dishes on the menu falling under £10, regardless of whether it is day or night.

Deals on side dishes, such as three regular sides for £8 makes sharing all the more accessible, while also encouraging guests to try more of the menu at hand.

They also serve a sparkling kids deal which allows the little ones to create their own seven-inch pizza with two toppings and chips for only £3.50. Now that’s what we call a bargain!

To top it all off (it deserves to be mentioned again) this place is also BYO meaning the cost of eating out in the city is slashed even more.

Overall, Pizza Boutique wins out on service, location and price. It is super-affordable and its laid-back approach to dining makes it the type of spot where you could easily lose a few hours over a bottle (or two) of wine.

Its food is fresh without a doubt and with so many options to chop and change things up, this contemporary Italian eatery is the perfect playground for those who rarely stick to ordering off the given menu.
