The ‘Good 4 U’ singer has taken the music world by storm over the past year, with hits such as ‘Driver’s License’ and ‘Déjà Vu’.

Much to the delight of fans across the Emerald Isle, Olivia Rodrigo announced gigs for Dublin and Cork next year.

Since the release of her debut single, ‘Driver’s License’ in January 2021, Olivia Rodrigo has become the biggest thing in pop.

The 18-year-old singer-songwriter has proved hugely successful with her album, Sour, which debuted at number one and remained in the top spot for five weeks.

Now, the pop princess has announced she will be touring her new album in 2022. And, to the delight of Irish fans, Olivia Rodrigo announced gigs in Dublin and Cork for next year.

Rodrigo’s industry breakthrough came when she was cast in the starring role of Nini Salazar-Roberts on the Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, which premiered in November 2019.

Aged just 17, Rodrigo wrote several songs for the series’ soundtrack, including ‘All I Want’ and ‘Just for a Moment’.

Since then, the talented young star has gone from strength to strength. In 2020, she signed with Interscope Records and Geffen Records, releasing her debut single ‘Driver’s License’ in January 2021.

The single quickly garnered huge success, breaking Spotify’s record twice for most ever daily streams for a non-holiday song.

Since the release of her singles and subsequent album, Rodrigo has gained worldwide acclaim and a loyal fanbase from all around the world.

Taking to Instagram yesterday, the singer announced her much anticipated global Sour tour. Much to the delight of Irish fans, Olivia Rodrigo included gigs in Dublin and Cork on the programme for next year.

The American singer-songwriter will take to the stage at Cork’s Live at the Marquee festival on 29 June 2022. Then, she’s heading to Fairview Park in Dublin on 30 June to round out her time in Ireland.

At just 18 years old, Olivia Rodrigo has quickly become one of the youngest successes in the global music industry.

She received the New Artist of the Year Award at the American Music Awards and various Grammy nominations, too.

Her array of nominations includes Record of the Year, Album and Song of the Year, and Best New Artist. She was also nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Music Video. All we can say is Good 4 U, Olivia!
