A brand new international survey finds that this Northern Irish city is the friendliest in the U.K.
A survey conducted by an internationally renowned travel magazine has found that Belfast is the friendliest city in the U.K.
Readers of Condé Nast Traveller took part in this study in finding the U.K.’s friendliest city.
The news comes just weeks after Belfast was also ranked among the top 15 friendliest cities in Europe.
Why Belfast? – a welcoming city
While cities across the world are often judged on their ancient history, architecture, food scenes, and culture, what this award focuses on is something even more important to visitors amidst the Covid-19 pandemic: friendliness.
Belfast is a friendly city that welcomes locals and visitors alike with open arms. Enjoy the friendliness of this historic city as you explore some of the many gems that are on offer here.
This Northern Irish city is most famous for being the place where the ill-fated Titanic was built. However, Belfast has so much more to offer than just exciting exhibits about this ship.
Experience the friendliness – places to feel welcomed
Visitors to the friendliest city in the U.K., Belfast, will be treated to the same warmth and friendliness as locals experience every day.
From popping into the shops to hopping in a taxi or perhaps heading out for a night on the town, you can expect to experience the warmth and welcome that Belfast is renowned for.
The awards – a celebration of travel
Condé Nast’s Readers’ Choice Awards are amongst one of the most important awards in the travel industry.
The website for the launch of the voting for this year’s Readers’ Choice Awards says, “This past year changed how and where we all travelled, and it will continue to do so even after the pandemic is behind us.
“That makes it more important than ever for you to weigh in on the hotels, destinations, and cruises you love–your support means even more to the industry than ever before”.
Each year, hundreds of thousands of people submit their nominations online across a variety of categories, including on the best hotels, spas, and golf clubs.
Candidates nominated by the public must receive a minimum number of responses before they are judged on a set of criteria relevant to the category. Judges then rank the nominations out of a possible 100 points.
Other winners – other friendly cities
Belfast scored an incredible 100 points out of a possible 100 points. The judging found that although Belfast topped the ranks as the friendliest city in the U.K., there were some excellent contenders.
In second place was Liverpool, England, with a score of 97.5 and in third place was Cardiff, Wales, with 96 points.
