The most popular Irish name in 2024 – Liam

Liam is an Irish boy’s name that dates back to the Norman conquest of Ireland and is a diminutive of the English name William, meaning “helmet of will” or “protection”.
Liam is said to mean “strong-willed warrior” and is popular both at home in Ireland and in many countries around the world.
While Liam is predicted to be the most popular Irish baby name of 2024, BabyCentre revealed that it actually dropped from the second most popular baby name in 2023 to the eighth most popular in 2024.
