The Irish UFC champion is planning to open his very own Irish pub in Dublin.
Good news for Irish UFC fans as professional mixed martial artist and boxer Conor McGregor plans to open an Irish pub in Dublin.
As one of the most well-known Irish sporting personalities, the Dublin pub will no doubt attract many visitors from all around the world.
According to reports, McGregor has spent almost €2 million to open the Black Forge pub in Crumlin, County Dublin, where he grew up.
Attracting UFC fans to Dublin – McGregor’s very own pub
According to Dublin Live, McGregor has spent €1.9 million on the pub in the Dublin district of Crumlin, where he grew up.
Reports also suggest that he has spent a further €1 million renovating the premises into a gastropub in preparation for its grand opening.
A report from auctioneer Lisney/Morrissey states that the price paid for the pub is “slightly out of tone with pricing in the Drimnagh/Crumlin area”.
However, it reflects “the property’s worth to the individual purchaser” who, “due to their fame and connection to the area, will expect to achieve trading levels in excess of general licensed premises”.
What to expect – traditional Irish food and drink
While plans for the pub remain mostly under wraps, McGregor continues to make visits to the premises to see how renovations are progressing.
It is expected that the Crumlin gastropub will serve a menu of traditional Irish cuisine, as well as all the most popular local drinks.
Signage at the pub promotes the fighter’s very own brand of whiskey, Proper 12, which he launched in 2018, and the site includes a Bentley Room for private functions.
Plans for décor are still uncertain, but rumours range from suggestions that McGregor plans to display souvenirs and memorabilia from his fighting career to plans for a more classy venue focusing on fine dining.
Exciting plans – a new venture
Conor McGregor does not only have plans to open an Irish pub in Dublin, but he has also been busy with his successful UFC career and sponsoring Dublin’s Black Forge Football Club – from which the pub takes its name.
Not to mention, the fighter is also expecting his third child with fiancée Dee Devlin.
So, great news for fans of the UFC champ as they can enjoy a pint and some delicious food in a new Dublin pub owned by one of the most famous Irish people ever, the man himself.
