Mini heatwave set for Ireland next week – summer is on the way
Moving into the weekend, conditions are set to take a turn for the better. The weekend is to be warmer and drier across most of Ireland.
Met Éireann writes, “It looks set to be a mostly dry day on Saturday but with plenty of cloud around during the day. A few showers will develop in the afternoon. The best of the sunshine is expected in coastal areas, and the evening will turn out sunny in many areas.”
Maximum temperatures will increase rapidly to highs of 18 C (64 F), with light breezes across the southwest.
Sunday will also see long spells of warm sunshine, and maximum temperatures are set to reach 21 C (69.8 F). However, coastal areas will be cooler overall with light breezes.

Moving into next week – duller weather to make a return
The mini heatwave is set for Ireland this weekend and early next week. However, early forecasts indicate that the summer-like conditions aren’t to last.
Met Éireann states, “Temperatures are expected to be around average for mid-May.”
They also forecast wetter weather conditions from Monday evening and moving into the latter half of next week. So, with a short spell of sunshine happening this weekend, we recommend making your plans now to get out and enjoy the good weather!
