The Emerald Isle claimed seven spots on the list of top 25 resorts in Europe as part of Condé Nast Traveller’s 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards.
Condé Nast Traveller revealed the results of their 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards earlier this week and one County Limerick hotel claimed the title of best resort in Europe.
With over half a million votes cast across several categories, readers had their say on what they believe to be the best travel experiences in the world.
From hotels and resorts to countries and experiences, Conde Nast Traveller’s 37th annual Readers’ Choice Awards revealed the best global travel experiences right now.
The best resort in Europe – for a luxurious break to the west of Ireland
Adare Manor in County Limerick claimed the top spot in the resorts category of this year’s Reader’s Choice Awards.
Condé Nast reviewer David Jefferys wrote, “A stately manor house on hundreds of acres, a raging river, and a picture-perfect adjacent village, there seems to be a bit of something for everyone here, and all without a lick of pretence.”
What’s more, the stunning County Limerick hotel was not the only Irish business to claim a spot on the list of best resorts in Europe. In fact, six other Irish hotels also ranked.

Ranking alongside the Limerick hotel that was named the best resort in Europe are several other amazing Irish hotels.
Ashford Castle in County Mayo ranked fourth and Trump International Golf Links and Hotel Doonbeg in Clare ranked fifth. Sheen Falls Lodge in County Kerry came sixth and Dromoland Castle Hotel and Country Resort in Clare ranked 11th.
