As Irish names continue to permeate Hollywood, with figures such as Saoirse Ronan ranking among the most well-known, monikers inspired by the Emerald Isle continue to gain popularity across the States.

The beautiful Irish girl name Aoife was not the Irish name to rank among the most used in the USA last year. Claiming second place was the Irish boy name Oisín, which means ‘little dear’.

Siobhan, meaning ‘the Lord is gracious’, ranked in the third position and Fionn, meaning ‘fair-haired’, ranked fourth. Closing out the top five was the stunning Irish girl name Caoimhe, which means ‘dear’ or ‘noble’.

Closing out the top ten was Declan in sixth, Saoirse in seventh, Reilly in eighth, Róisín in ninth, and Ciarán in tenth. Thus, we can expect a huge wave of Irish names to sweep the nation among the upcoming generation.

As the beautiful Irish name Aoife takes the United States by storm, other statistics may come as more of a surprise.

The Irish male name Liam, which has proven popular across various states in America in previous years, didn’t feature on the top ten list, according to MyDomaine.

This may come as some surprise as Liam has consistently ranked in the top five most popular baby names in the United States for the past decade.

So, if you’re looking for a beautiful baby name inspired by the Emerald Isle, you’ll have plenty to choose from. However, we can’t promise that everyone will find them so easy to pronounce!
