Everyone deserves a chance to fly – big hopes for one Irish actress
Wicked fever has well and truly taken hold, with fans around the globe asking when the highly-anticipated part two of the popular musical will be released.
If you’ve already seen the stage musical, you’ll know that Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz makes an appearance in the show. So, fans are wondering if that role will be reprised on screen when the second part of Wicked is released.
With that, many are speculating who could be donning the iconic red slippers to take on the role of one of film’s most beloved characters – and one Irish actress’ name has been thrown in the ring for the major role in Wicked: Part 2.
A rising star – a talented young Irish actress
Alisha Weir, a 15-year-old actress from Dublin, known for her starring role in horror movie Abigail, is the Irish actress tipped to take on the major role in Wicked: Part 2.
Joining the star-studded cast alongside Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, Weir could take to the big screen with Dorothy’s iconic pigtails and ruby slippers.
One fan posted the guess on X, alongside photos of Alisha at the Wicked premiere. They said, “STREETS SAYING ABIGAIL PLAYING DOROTHY IN WICKED PART 2?????”
This won’t be the first time the young Irish actress has taken on a major stage to screen role. Weir is also known for her portrayal of Matilda in the movie adaptation of Matilda: The Musical.
