Perhaps unsurprisingly, the capital city is home to some of Ireland’s most haunted pubs. With tales of murder, hangings, and paranormal activity, these creepy spots are sure to send chills down your spine.

One of the most well-known is the aptly named Gravediggers Pub (A.K.A. John Kavanagh’s). Located beside one of the city’s most famous graveyards, this spot offers several tales of ghosts and hauntings.

Elsewhere in the city, you can enjoy some creepy cocktails at The Bull and Castle, which is said to be haunted by the ghost of Irish poet James Clarence Mangan.

Otherwise, you can head to one of Dublin’s most historic pubs, The Brazen Head. Reputedly haunted by the ghost of the ‘bold’ Robert Emmett, who used to hold secret meetings here before being hanged on this very site.

Head west to the Renvyle House Hotel in County Galway for paranormal pub experiences. Irish poet W.B. Yeats reported tales of ghostly goings-on here, including doors opening by themselves, mysterious groans, and even people being thrown from their beds.

Meanwhile, County Kilkenny is home to the creepy Kyteler’s Inn. Named after Dame Alice Kyteler, who was known as ‘The Witch of Kilkenny’ for outliving several wealthy husbands, this spot is certainly among Ireland’s most haunted pubs.
