Ireland set to get hotter than Spain this week

Highs of 17 C (63 F) across Ireland mean that it will be hotter than parts of Spain at times this week.

Met Eireann has forecasted an early taste of summer, with Ireland set to get hotter than Spain across the coming week.

While highs of 17 C (63 F) are expected in certain parts of Ireland, Barcelona is set to reach 16 C (61 F) and Madrid is forecasted to reach only 9 C (48 F) on Friday.

These unusual highs for this time of year in Ireland mean that it will be hotter in parts of Ireland than parts of Spain this week.

Met Éireann has forecasted highs of 17 C (63 F ) in certain parts of the country this week, making Ireland miraculously hotter than in certain parts of Spain.

The highs are uncommon for this time of year, with predictions of dry, bright, and mild weather to last the week. Met Éireann described the higher temperatures as “slightly unusual for this time of year”.

In an interesting turn of events, The Spanish Meteorology Agency (AEMET) has issued weather warnings in certain holiday hotspots across Spain. This includes Madrid, Alicante, and Mallorca.

While here in Ireland we are to expect unusual highs for this time of year, Spain must pay heed to the weather warnings that have been forecasted for certain parts of the country. 

They have been warned to watch for strong winds, storms, heavy rain, high waves, and even snow in some parts of the country.

For anyone holidaying in Spain from Ireland this week, we dare say you might have been better staying at home.

Mini-heatwave – temperatures to regulate next week

A heatwave is defined as five consecutive days of unusually high temperatures for that time of year. Ireland’s fortunate good weather is being dubbed a ‘mini-heatwave’.

All good things must come to an end, though, as the Irish weather provider has determined that temperatures across Ireland will regulate on 29 April.

With Ireland set to get hotter than Spain this week, we have to take advantage! So, what are you waiting for?
