Crawford Art Gallery – a national cultural institution
Originally built in 1724 as Cork’s Customs House, this gallery, with its collections and pieces, pays tribute to the history of Cork and the rest of Ireland over the past three centuries, while also nodding to more modern exhibitions.
The Gallery is home to the famous Canova Casts. These were gifted to Cork two centuries ago. Also featured in the Gallery’s collection are the works of notable Irish artists James Barry, Mainie Jellett, and Norah McGuinness.
More contemporary artists like Aideen Barry and Gerard Byrne feature as well.

New exhibitions on display to the public are ‘Saturation: The Everyday Transformed’ and ‘The Port of Cork Collection and Botanica: The Art of Plants.’
As well as the exciting new exhibitions, visitors can also participate in a number of special drawing workshops, bespoke tours, and a unique family trail. You can enjoy this all while traditional music plays throughout the Gallery.
