With lists of romantic holiday destinations for couples popping up everywhere, singletons have finally been given the list they’ve been waiting for.
While the Emerald Isle is known for its romantic charm, it’s also a must-visit for those not in a relationship. If you’re single and looking for a city break, four Irish cities have been named among the best for singletons.
International travel magazine Big Seven Travel compiled the list of 50 Best Cities in Europe for Single People. They conducted extensive research into data on “singletons, dating apps, social life, and the opinions of residents.”

Four Irish cities named among the best for singletons – not just for honeymoons
A whopping four Irish cities have been named in the 50 Best Cities in Europe for Single People, alongside major European destinations which include Barcelona, Amsterdam, and even Paris.
Both the capital of the Republic and Northern Ireland made the top 50, with Cork and Galway named as well.
So, when it comes to the perfect holiday for single people, Ireland should be high on your list.
Dublin – experience single life in the capital
It is no secret that major cities are a great destination for singletons. So, really, we aren’t surprised that Dublin made the top 50.
With lots of lively nightlife and bustling city streets, Dublin ranked 13th when it comes to the best places to experience single life.
Ranking Dublin among the Irish cities that are best for singletons, Big Seven Travel wrote, “You’ll have the luck of the Irish when it comes to dating in Dublin. It’s the 14th most popular city in Europe for Tinder Passport users.
“Dublin also ranks highly on Nomad List’s top Tinder cities in Europe. Users report positive reviews of the city’s dating scene and its openness to LGBTQ+.”
Belfast – a great destination to experience single life
Dublin wasn’t the only capital on the list of Irish cities named among the best for singletons. Big Seven Travel ranked Belfast 29th in the list of European hotspots to enjoy single life.
Known for its buzzing nightlife, great pub scene, and lots to see, Belfast is a must-visit for singletons.
Big Seven Travel wrote, “Belfast has (at last count!) a grand total of 106,568 single people in the city. That’s 46.6% of the city’s population, a percentage that’s quite promising.”
Cork and Galway – cultural hubs
Aside from the capitals, two other Irish cities have been named among the best for singletons – namely, Cork and Galway.
Coming just ahead of Belfast, Ireland’s second-largest city, Cork, ranked 25th in the list of best European cities for single people.
Galway, which is known as Ireland’s ‘cultural capital’, ranked 42nd, boasting the highest percentage (53.3%) of single people on the island of Ireland.
