If you’re a food lover, you’ll want to get yourself to Derry. The city is planning an exciting weekend full of great food, refreshing drinks, and incredible entertainment.

Taking place along the Quay, Legenderry Street Food Festival will welcome the city’s very best local retailers and producers to the streets from 15 to 17 July.

Just ahead of the annual Foyle Maritime Festival, which takes place in the city from 20 to 24 July, the street food festival will create a buzz and summer feel throughout the city’s streets.

The exciting food festival will welcome the Clipper Round Yacht Race into the city.

Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District, Councillor Sandra Duffy, launched the festival last week. She said it was a great opportunity to celebrate the city’s expanding street food culture.

“The LegenDerry Food brand has really grown and developed into a strong identity for our local restaurants and producers and an umbrella for so many exciting new and established businesses,” she explained.

“Street Food is a relatively new trend. So, it’s fantastic that we can boast such an array of delicious food offerings; it’s a culture that will undoubtedly go from strength to strength.”

The exciting food and drinks festival coming to Derry is the first of its kind in the city since 2019. There will be plenty of quality food and drink options, as well as live DJ sets. So, this year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Vendors scheduled to attend include Doherty’s Meats, Fairley’s Flavours, Foyle Bubble Waffle, and La Tia Juana. Lo & Slo, Nonnas, Offing Coffee, and Silver Bean are also due to take part. There will also be plenty of vegan and vegetarian options available.

Open all day, from 12 pm to 10 pm, guests will have plenty of opportunities to get breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the event. So, you won’t need to worry if there’s plenty you want to try.
