A €15 million redevelopment project is set to transform the almost unknown Dublin coastal town into one of Ireland’s newest tourist destinations.

A relatively unknown Dublin seaside town is set to become Ireland’s next tourist hotspot following a €15 million redevelopment project.
Balbriggan Harbour, located just north of Dublin City, is somewhat of a hidden gem, often flying under the radar of tourists and visitors to the area.
As Ireland’s tourism sector continues to flourish, more and more spots around the island will see significant redevelopments.
Sprucing up a Dublin coastal town – bringing life to the coast

Maybe you want to escape the city or just want to discover a hidden gem. Whatever you’re after, the County Dublin coast has something for every kind of traveller.
From quiet beaches to lively pubs, you can soak up Ireland’s culture exactly as you like it. With popular spots such as Bray, Greystones, and Dun Laoghaire proving popular among those looking to escape the city, the east coast certainly has lots to offer.
Now, another Dublin seaside town is set to become Ireland’s next tourist hotspot. A €15 million redevelopment project will transform it into a vibrant hub of life and entertainment.
A major facelift – revitalising Balbriggan’s beach and coastline

The redevelopment project is set to transform the Dublin seaside town of Balbriggan into Ireland’s next tourist hotspot.
The project will see the 19,300 sq m (207,743 sq ft) brought to life with a multi-purpose plaza and linear park. The plans aim to create an interconnected centre where people are drawn to live, work, and visit.
Set to be complete in late 2025, the seaside town will come to life with new surfacing, more seating, and enhanced green play areas.
Dr David Begg, Chair of the Our Balbriggan Leadership Group, spoke to The Irish Star on the project. He said, “The creation of a lively waterfront plaza and linear park will promote tourism and significantly boost the town.”
