Everyone remembers the iconic picture of Matt Damon on the Dalkey seafront with a SuperValu bag in hand.

We all know that the price of rent in Ireland, and especially Dublin, is extortionate.

With the ever-increasing cost of living, choosing to live in Ireland’s capital is becoming more and more unobtainable.

However, if you’ve got the money to spend, you can check into the luxurious Dalkey mansion that was previously rented by Matt Damon.

Coming in at an eyewatering €8,400 a week and only available for ‘short term rental’, according to Airbnb, the property is certainly out of reach for most.

The luxurious mansion was previously owned by ex-Formula 1 racing driver Eddie Irvine. However, he put the property on the market last year, and it was sold for €3.5 million.

Titled ‘Ischia’, the home is located on Dalkey’s affluent Sorrento Road, just a short walk away from the seafront.

The 5,000 sq ft (465 sq m) home includes five large double bedrooms, four of which include ensuite bathrooms. There is a fully integrated kitchen and a luxurious dining area.

Guests can also enjoy the home’s games room, which opens out onto a private outdoor pool area. The games room includes a pool table and bar area. As if that wasn’t enough, there is also a sauna, jacuzzi, and plunge pool.
