When it comes to hotel recommendations, you always want to hear from fellow travellers more than faceless corporate entities. Tripadvisor’s method of collating reviews from users, therefore, has made it a trusted source for global travel tips.

Tripadvisor uses these reviews to determine the winners of its annual Travellers’ Choice Awards. This year, a popular County Down hotel has picked up an award as one of the best places to stay in the world.

Tripadvisor is synonymous with global travel tips. The American company operates an online price comparison website which allows its users to rate hotels, restaurants, and activities.

Every year these reviews and ratings form the basis of the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.

To qualify for the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards, a property must meet certain criteria. It must be listed on Tripadvisor for at least 12 months, receive a certain number of reviews, and exceed and maintain a rating determined by the site.

Clandeboye Lodge has this year been recognised as one of the world’s best hotels by the Tripadvisor Traveller’s Choice Awards.

With beautiful rooms and the renowned Coq and Bull brasserie, Clandeboye Lodge is one of Northern Ireland’s most luxurious hotels. Moreover, it currently boasts an average rating on Tripadvisor of 4.5 out of five from almost 2,000 reviews.

On top of luxury, the hotel also affords guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in nature via the woodlands of the Clandeboye Estate and the nearby North Down Coastal Path.

In a statement, Clandeboye Lodge managing director Pim Dalm said, “We are incredibly honoured to be consistently recognised among the travellers’ top favourites.

“This award is a testament to our dedicated staff and the wonderful guests who have shared their positive experiences. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this achievement”.

Meanwhile, Tripadvisor’s chief growth officer John Boris congratulated the Clandeboye Lodge for its achievement.

“Travellers’ Choice honours businesses that consistently demonstrate a commitment to hospitality excellence,” said Boris.

“This means you have made such a memorable impact on your visitors that many of them took the time to go online and leave a great review about their experience.

“People rely on Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice seal to help them navigate the myriad of things to see, eat, and do across the globe. We hope this recognition continues to drive business to you in 2024 and beyond.”
