Thanks to the fact that the right to request flexible and remote working is now enshrined by law in Ireland, workers will be guaranteed the same rights to hybrid and remote working no matter which county they choose to live and work in.

The WLBI took an in-depth look at cities and towns throughout Ireland to discover which places in particular seem to strike the perfect balance between work and life.

The study looked at a wide variety of areas in Ireland’s towns, such as local services, family life, hybrid working, and leisure facilities, when attempting to determine which are the best places to live and work in Ireland.

The Work-Life Balance Act 2023 was officially introduced by the Irish Government last year, with the Work Place Relations Commission introducing a new code of practice with regard to flexible and remote working during the year 2024.

Minister of State Roderic O’Gorman said the bill “represents a significant advance in workers’ rights in Ireland.

“It recognises the importance of family life and an improved quality of life for all workers by supporting employees to achieve a better balance between their home and work lives”.
