A recent trip to Ireland by Food Review Club led the TikTok influencer to claim that he had found the best fish and chips in the world, nestled in the quaint fishing town of Killybegs in County Donegal.

While Ireland is well known for having some top-notch chip shops and seafood restaurants, Killybegs Seafood Shack won over the food influencer.

The seafood eatery is well known nationwide and has earned accolades for its delectable haddock and mighty pink sauce dip, and the Food Review Club wholeheartedly agreed.

Known for their globetrotting adventures in search of the world’s best dishes, the TikTok food lover embarked on a mission to taste test the offerings at Killybegs Seafood Shack in County Donegal.

The town is home to the largest fishing port in Ireland, and the town’s eateries are renowned for serving up some of the freshest catch imaginable, so of course, Food Review Club wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

With an open mind and an empty stomach, the TikToker set out to find out the truth behind the hype, and the result is sensational.

For a mere €12, he got his hands on the Seafood Shack’s signature dish of haddock and chips, which he stated is “world famous”. Upon first glance, the foodie said it appeared rather “unassuming”, but he had yet to have his tastebuds tantalised.

While ordering what has been rumoured to be “the best fish and chips in the world”, he noticed that they didn’t serve curry sauce but instead offered up pink sauce, a combination of ketchup and mayonnaise that, when tasted, he deemed “electric”.

While satisfied with the sauce and the chips, the famous haddock stole the show. Uttering, “Holy smokes, look at that”, as he tore the fish in half, it was clear that the visual would leave a lasting impression, but the taste left him speechless.

Describing the fresh haddock as “light” and “buttery”, the foodie was visibly blown away by the haddock’s exceptional flavour. While he was not entirely sold on the batter, he emphasised that the fish was the best he’d ever had.

He confirmed the rumours circulating the internet – Killybegs’s Seafood Shack had, without a doubt, the “best fish and chips in the world” and was unlike anything he had tasted on his culinary expeditions.

Describing the culinary delight, he said, “That fish is unbelievable; it’s like haddock butter. Wow. Holy s***. It’s like the wagyu of steak. Next level”. His cameraman wholeheartedly agreed.

So, if the Seafood Shack in Killybegs wasn’t already thriving, it is about to be swarmed with hungry folk eager to get their hands on the best fish and chips in the world.
