Belfast has ranked among the best UK city breaks for 2022, according to a new guide from the international travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
The Northern Irish capital is known for its history, culture, and buzzing nightlife. Thus, making it the perfect weekend escape with friends, family, or your significant other.
So, are you looking for a fun city break in 202? If so, Belfast should be at the top of your list.
A must-visit destination – plenty to see and do
Belfast has seen huge investment over the past two decades. Much of this has gone into its tourism and hospitality industries, bringing new life to the city.
This investment has transformed the city into a buzzing city break destination and a hotspot for local and international tourism.
From luxury hotels, such as The Merchant and Grand Central, to world-class tourist attractions, including Titanic Belfast and Crumlin Road Gaol, there are plenty of reasons to visit.

Condé Nast writer Anna Cafolla ranked Belfast as number three on the list of best UK city breaks for 2022.
She wrote, “Where once bright young things absconded to bigger cities, those same locals are now driving a wave of indie restaurants, pop-ups, and creative ventures.”
“A relatively small city, Belfast is becoming increasingly cosmopolitan while retaining its soul.”

Curated by editor Rick Jordan, Edinburgh topped the list of best city break in the UK for 2022. Glasgow closely followed in second and Belfast came in third.
Cafolla highlighted some of the things you need to add to your Belfast bucket list if you’re visiting the city.
She said, “To get a sense of it, a Black Taxi Tour will give you the lay of the land. Meanwhile, climbing the mighty Cavehill in the country park just outside town will give you a different slant on the city – as will cocktails at the rooftop Babel bar.”
She also recommended embarking on a pub crawl of the Cathedral Quarter. Then, checking out the unique foodie spots that can be found around the city.
Cafolla also recommended getting out of the centre and discovering the hidden gems of East and South Belfast. Must-visit spots included Boundary Brewery, the Cuban Sandwich Factory, and Madame Pho.
She concluded that “Belfast is a city moving to its own beat.” With a vibrant cultural scene filled with movies, music, literature, and more, all tastes are catered for.
