Escape to The Old Inn Crawfordsburn for a cosy Autumn Getaway

As the leaves turn brilliant shades of red, orange and yellow and the air around us gets crisp, consider a trip to The Old Inn Crawfordsburn to experience their incredible Autumn Getaway.

Escape to The Old Inn Crawfordsburn for a cosy Autumn Getaway.

We were invited down to The Old Inn Crawfordsburn, a sister hotel of Galgorm, to experience their amazing Autumn Getaway package.

The package includes an overnight stay, full access to the tranquil Treetop Spa, a three-course meal at the Old Inn Restaurant, and a full Irish breakfast the next morning.

With stunning seasonal décor throughout the hotel, fresh and delicious food in the hotel restaurant and the intimate Treetop Spa to keep you warm, there’s no shortage of reasons to escape to this charming haven for the Autumn Getaway.

The Autumn Getaway – a cosy night away at The Old Inn Crawfordsburn

Nestled in the middle of the quaint village of Crawfordsburn, The Old Inn beckons visitors from all over with its local charm.

From the moment we walked into the hotel, we were greeted with the overwhelming feel of Autumn as the open fire crackled out heat in the lobby.

It might be cold outside as we revel in the spooky season, but this won’t be an issue with the abundance of warmth your experience will provide.

The Autumn Getaway includes an overnight stay in one of the spacious Highway rooms, perfect for those seeking a peaceful retreat.

The room features a stunning and comfortable four-poster bed that transports you back in time, and you’ll be provided with The Old Inn’s signature blue robes and flip-flops for your foray into the spa.

Also included in this bespoke package is full access to the Treetop Spa, a three-course meal at the AA Rosette, award-winning Old Inn Restaurant, and a full Irish breakfast to get your day started the next morning.

Peace and relaxation – relax to the surround sound of birdsong

Peace and relaxation at the Autumn Getaway at The Old Inn Crawfordsburn.

One of the best features of The Old Inn is the stunning Treetop Spa. Some hotel spas can be overwhelmingly big, but the Treetop Spa is small and intimate and perfectly matches the overall feel of the experience.

The main event of the spa is the heated pool. You are able to enjoy this throughout the day, but the real magic for us came at night when the sun went down, the lights came out, and the spa took on a whole other level of cosy.

There are a number of different aspects of the spa to enjoy as well, like the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, conservatory with heated loungers, and a snug area that features a heated waterbed to relax on after a dip in the pool.

Plus, there’s a spa bar serving cocktails and other drinks to enjoy while you relax. You can bet that we took advantage of the spa facilities the next morning, too, which was the perfect way to start a crisp autumn morning.

Excellent dining options – friendly and attentive staff

Excellent dining options with friendly and attentive staff.

The Autumn Getaway Package includes a tasty three-course meal in the award-winning Old Inn Restaurant. We have to say, the menu here is simply fantastic.

From fresh fish and steak dishes to vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, there is something to suit the tastes and desires of everyone.

If you are vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free, they have entire menus just to suit these dietary requirements, so be sure to ask when dining here.

The Sicilian Nocellara Green Olives were perhaps the best olives I have ever tasted. For starters, the Four Onion Soup was the perfect way to get warmed up on a cold evening.

The main meals were equally as impressive. We opted for the Roast Fillet of Cod and the Grange Farm Duck Breast. The cod was fresh, light and delicious, while the duck was succulent and tender.

If you prefer your food with no frills, the Pub Plates feature all the classics, like Beer Battered Fish and Chips, a Steak Burger, a Chicken and Leek Pie and more.

We couldn’t say no to dessert, so we finished off our meals with the Sticky Toffee Pudding and the Broken Blackberry & Oat Cheesecake, the perfect way to finish off an incredible meal.
