This weekend, eat your way through a two-hour tasting tour of Titanic proportions—a brilliant combination of culture, history, and unique Belfast dining.
Have you ever thought about what it would’ve been like as a guest on the most famous ship of all, the RMS Titanic? Or wondered how it would’ve felt to walk along its marble halls, and to dine in luxury while a live orchestra played soothingly behind you? If so, don’t worry—you’re not alone in this.
We’d be lying if we said the thought of eating in one of the ship’s luxuriant dining saloons has never crossed our mind. This is why we were thrilled to discover that as part of Tourism NI’s “Taste the Island” campaign, Titanic Belfast, which is one of the most incredible architectural structures in Ireland, will be hosting “A Taste of Titanic” food tour this Saturday 30th November 2019.
Here we will sum up what the event includes, how you can go about getting tickets, and what the Taste the Island campaign is all about.
A Taste of Titanic: What’s included?
Titanic Belfast, which is one of the best museums in Ireland, promises that whether it’s a shipyard worker’s hearty snack or a first-class champagne treat, they will have you covered on this mouth-watering two-hour food adventure. Their menu is subject to change, but the visitors can always expect a sample of sweet and savoury snacks and beverages, which will be paired to relevant parts of the Titanic’s story.
Along with food and drink tastings, ticket holders will be given admittance to the Titanic Experience galleries and a guided tour. It promises to be a truly unique Belfast dining experience, and we are confident in saying this is something not to be missed.
It also means that anyone thinking about going on the proposed Titanic II replica ship will gain an insight as to what could be in store for them come 2022! Hopefully there aren’t as many icebergs this time around, though.
Times
The tours will run at 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm, Saturday 30th November 2019.
Taste the Island campaign
Tourism NI’s “Taste the Island” campaign is a celebration of Ireland’s food and drink, an eight-week event that began in mid-September, showcasing some of the best locally-sourced produce that our little Emerald Isle has to offer.
2019 is the first of a three-year commitment by Tourism NI, delivered in conjunction with their partners Tourism Ireland and Failte Ireland, to promote Irish food and drink. We’re impressed by their efforts and, with support like this, we think it’s clear to see why Northern Ireland was recently named Best Food Destination at the International Travel and Tourism awards.
