Research conducted by Painted Clans narrowed the number of Irish family names and Irish surnames among 80m people living all over the world to just ten.

The final list of ten surnames also includes the origins and meanings of the names which are really interesting. I bet you didn’t know that O’Sullivan really meant ‘dark eyed one’.
