5. The Mount Wolseley Hotel and Resort, Co. Carlow
A four star course, it is one of the most luxurious ones available with spa, an indoor pool and a championship golf course which was designed by Christy O’Connor Jnr.
4. Royal Belfast, Co. Down
A view ranging from Belfast Lough to Co. Antrim, it is considered to be a deceptive course and it is the oldest course of Ireland, which was designed by Harry Colt. It is one of the most casual courses when compared to other courses in UK.
3. Dooks Club, Co. Kerry
Dooks has been home to golf players since 1889 and is one of the oldest ones with marvellous views due to its location between Macgillycuddy’s Reeks and Dingle Peninsula. It is also home to the natterjack toad, an endangered species, about which you will have to be careful!
2. The K Club, Co. Kildare
Host to the Ryder Cup at one point of time, two courses have lush green lawns and it resembles a typical American parkland course. They offer package options too at very competitive prices, making it a must visit course among golfers.
1.Royal Country Down, Co. Down
The favourite of Tiger Woods, it is frequented by Darren Clarke and Rory Mcllroy and was founded in 1889 along the Irish Sea with each hole being distinct in this course.
